There's Something About This Place...

Something about home. Something about BEING home. Just calms me down, and makes me feel comfortable. Everything about it, I love. My house is in no means perfect, big, expensive, or even clean for that matter. But to me, it's my favorite place in the world. I could go to Disneyland for a month, and at the end of that month, I'd be craving home. My house is warm, comfortable, homey, and all around just a nice place to be. There's dog hair everywhere, dirty dishes in the sink, and a crap load of shit in the guest room closet, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

When I moved up here, for the first few months, I would clean everyday and make sure things were perfect. But as time goes on, I seem to clean less and less (not in a gross way, I assure you!) It just seems to not be as important as I once thought it was. Home is home whether you clean everyday or you don't. It's home whether you cuddle up on the couch with your husband, or you cuddle up with a big blanket and wait for dinner to cook. It's the best place in the world, the most comfortable, and has the most love, as cheesy as that sounds.

My life recently.

It's been a little while since I've updated. Possibly a lack of time/motivation, but I just thought I'd share and update my followers on my life recently. The husband is going to the night shift which sucks for me cause we never really see each other while he's on nights, but oh well. It means that I get the whole tv to me every night! Yayyy! No more recording shows and watching them 3 days later, I can actually watch them that night! Also, I started working full time at my coffee stand, and I am still working at Applebee's, so I usually only get about one day off a week, but I don't mind too much. I really do love staying busy and making the cash, so it's a good move for me. It makes my time at home much more satisfying to be honest. The peace and quiet is just so nice when I can just cuddle up on my couch and watch some tv after a long hard day of work! It's a great feeling.

It's been pretty sunny and warm up here (well for Washington anyways!) so we've been taking the dogs out everyday, which I'm sure they love. I love spring weather. This year, it's not too rainy, it's actually a good mix of rain and sun, which is a really good thing.

On a more serious note, I found out my Uncle passed away this morning. My mom's *favorite* brother, so I know she's going through some rough things. I only met him a couple of times, he was one of the few people that really supported my husband and I getting married so young, so I feel very sad about him passing. Yet, I have no tears, I'm not sure why. I feel like I SHOULD be sad, but at the same time, we didn't have very much interaction, so it doesn't affect me so badly, I guess. I really will miss him though, he was a good man and a great brother to my mom. He had cancer, and I know he will be very missed.
R.I.P. Uncle David.

MilSpouse Fill-In (2 days late!)

I know it's Sunday, and I know I haven't updated in awhile, but I saw this MilSpouse Fill-In and I just wanted to post it! I'm going to try and get back into my blogger way of life, I'm working a lot and I just need to find the time to work it into my schedule. But I will! I promise!

Which was the best day of your life- Wedding day or Homecoming day?
I would say my wedding day. Only because my whole family was there, everyone important to me was right there celebrating and supporting us. And that was really important to me. It was such a fun day, sunny, and perfect! Homecoming day was fun too, but I mean we waited in the cold air terminal till 3am, and that wasn't fun. But the anticipation of the whole thing was what I liked about it. And that first hug...nothing beats that feeling.

Were you a part of the joining the military question or did you sign up for the relationship when your man was already in the military?
We were best friends when he signed up for the military, but by the time he left for boot camp, we were dating. So I guess I wasn't a part of his deciding but I was just along for the ride.

What is your favorite Disney movie and why?
Alice in Wonderland! I love everything about it, it's cooky and weird.

What is your favorite family activity to do on the weekends?
Take the puppies to the beach or just go on weird adventures with my love. We usually just relax at home, which is nice, but it's fun when it's sunny and we can do outdoor stuff.

Where do you secretly wish you could be stationed with you/your SO’s line of work (realistically speaking, not everyone can be stationed on NAS Fiji)?
Is there for real an NAS Fiji?! Someone please confirm this...I'd like to be down in San Diego though. Only cause I love sunny weather and it's close to Disneyland! :)

Beauty Post!

I love watching "How To" videos on youtube. Most of the time I watch videos on hair, make-up, clothing, etc. I've learned a lot about make-up recently, and started researching some really good brands and tricks. I found out about BH Cosmetics through a few videos and decided to check them out. So I ended up purchasing an eye shadow palette from them. I got the Natural Eyeshadow Palette and I absolutely love it. It's easy to open (unlike Coastal Scents, which I'll get to in a minute.) And all the colors are ones that I will use. I love doing smokey eyes, and I can with all these colors. Here is what the BH Cosmetics Eyeshadow Palette looks like:

Some of the colors are spakly and some are matte. It's a perfect combination of both. There's all different kind of natural colors in there. The eyeshadow is really powdery, which can be a pro or a con. You really don't need to use too much to achieve a great color on your eyelid. But at the same time, if you're not careful, you can have some fallout on your cheeks. All in all, I WILL order from this company again, it wasn't too pricey. Including shipping, handling, and insurance (which comes standard), I paid about $25 for it, which isn't too bad considering all the colors you get!

My next purchase was my Coastal Scents  blush palette. It came with 6 different shades. I've got blush, bronzer, and a highlighter in there. I haven't used it yet, because I just got it/opened it this afternoon, but from what I can tell, I'm going to like it. The only downside so far is that it's kind of hard to open. If you don't have long nails, this might be a problem for you, like it is for me. Hopefully with time it gets easier to open!

Altogether, this was about $24 with shipping and handling. I got it off amazon.com. I ended up seeing it was a bit cheaper on there than on the Coastal Scents website. If you ladies want, I can do a review blog on this after I test it out and have a better knowledge of what I like/don't like about it. Just let me know!

And last but DEFINITELY not least, is my Pro Beauty Tools S-Curl styler. I just got it today but I used it right when I got home and LOVEEED it! My hair is naturally curly, but one side of my head curls a lot better than my other side. So, I was constantly trying to curl my hair with a flat iron, and make it look natural without having too many ringlet curls, know what I'm talking about? Well this makes my hair look naturally curly! For those of you girls with straight hair looking to get a naturally curly look, I HIGHLY recommend this. It was about $30 at Walmart. High and Low heat settings, and an "Open" or "Lock" switch. I love everything about it!

Any questions...just let me know! :)
